As an international research university, Syracuse University celebrates the many ways students from around the world contribute to making our campus a great place to live and learn. We recognize that recent changes to travel and immigration policies have caused a great deal of concern for many in our community.
We want you to know we are committed to providing a safe and supportive campus environment for all—including beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)/Undocumented students. To that end, this spring, Chancellor Syverud appointed an Ad Hoc Committee of students, faculty, and staff to review current support systems, explore best practices, and recommend additional ways the University can support DACA students or those who may be undocumented. The committee delivered its final report to the Chancellor, and as a result, the University is taking a number of steps to implement the committee’s immediate recommendations. That report, which includes immediate, short term and long term recommendations.
